I have been on the rollercoaster that is addiction for 9 years. The beginning was a blur of survival mode, but through the years line upon line I have learned and grown. My addict and I both separately and collectively work recovery. Some days are beautiful, and others and trying. I choose to share both the good and bad because you can’t have one without the other.

I strongly believe in connection, which is why I decided to show up this way. For me, and for you. Here is my story…Start at the BEGINNING

  1. Very thoughtful and interesting perspective. I can relate to the changing emotions. Up. Down. Hopeful. Resolved. You write of learning to lean on Christ and how staying close to Him brings clarity and perspective. You write of how well-meaning people judge you. You question what help shaming can bring. I agree. None. Just one thing: why must you conduct your personal relationship with Christ thru LDS. Or any denomination, for that matter? The God of the Bible and His Son are accessible apart from any man-made enterprise.

    1. Thank you Kathy! I appreciate you’re voice. I have found that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is something that I want to be a part of. The principles in the Bible, and then the principles I saw weaved all through the Book of Mormon when I read it felt unmistakably true to me. I actually love the church. I believe that shame exists everywhere. I also believe if I do my work, then I won’t care as much about those that shame, and personally I can just be an example of Christ.
